My buddy Mike and I are going to go up to portland this week to watch BOTH , The Department of Eagles and The Cave Singers. Yes, they are playing in support of eachother.
I also bought tickets for the Bonnie Prince Billy show in March. And i’ve also been informed that Tallest Man on Earth will be in portland a few days before that. So i’m planning on an eventful orgasmic spring break.
I’m currently listening to:
Antony & the Johnsons: The Crying Light (sounds real pretty so far)
Small Sur: We live in houses made of wood
Alela Diane’s Upcoming Release “To Be still” will be out in Febuary. Luckily since i’ve got connections in the music world, I’ve received an advanced copy. I don’t want to use a bunch of generalizations and fancy music words and similarities, so i’ll just let you know I HIGHTLY recommend it. She was succesfully able to top Pirate gospel, which was also a great album.
Now i have a difficult decision to make for the future. On febuary 15th, there will be two shows going on at the same time. Alela Dianes cd release party or Horse Feathers with The Old Believers. (what a great combo) Any suggestions?

I think there is reason to classify a new clique. I saw a gal wearing all black and studded jewelery and also a black ‘brooks and dunn’ shirt. It’s the country goth.
a mix between Get ready for the new genre of music as well. It’s on the horizon.Gothic Country, think of Dwight Yokem mixed with Depeche mode.

In this technology age, one thinks that deleting someone from the internet sites they occupy, deletes them from their lives. Boy is it awkward when you see those folks you deleted from the internet in the real world. (if you are deleting me from you internet world, why are you reading this?) Caught you!
At goodwill today i met an African American gentleman. He was wearing a B.I.G shirt and some long shorts and jewelery. I was looking at the records, and there was this small little white guy looking at records with me. I kept trying to joke around with him, handing him the jazzersize records, asking him ‘hey, are you gonna get this one, cause if not i’m gonna snatch it”. He asked ” are you serious or are you joking?”… The Black man walks up to the little white guy, who he claims is his brother, and asks him for 4 dollars so he could buy this sweatshirt. I told the guy about the brand of the sweater, which was ‘Saller’ a german soccer brand that runs about $50 brand new. He has pumped he was getting such a good deal. Then he tells me if i ever get a chance, that i should listen to the Carpenters (we’ve only just begun). I told him i knew who they were, and that they were ‘not bad’. He tells me a story of when he was at the dollar tree, and it came on the radio and he started dancing. (he puts on his dark sun glasses and shows me how he was dancing). It was fun for me. I’m not making fun at all. I wish all people were like Alonzo.
