Well, i know it’s just around the bend, pitchfork has finally rated her new album with an 8.0, and now she’s bound to explode. Good for her. It’s an amazing album, and like an aging wine, it keeps getting better every week.

“Sam Sabori is phenomenal” informs me of the following fantastic info:

Germs online is gonna be supplying the new “sports shoe”. It’s gonna be an online exclusive, and i’m expecting these things to go fast (both in sales and i’m pretty sure i’ll be ripping up the track with them too). I really like the use of yellow throughout the shoe. As you can see below it’s got 4 yellow stripes and then a yellow lower heel and a yellow form fitting arch supporter.

Just got ahold of the 2009 Trans-siberian orchestra album coming out next november. It’s called the Christmas attic. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to top ‘the ghost of christmas eve’ but folks, they did it. It’s amazing. absolutly fucking amazing shit. And i scream that at the top of my lungs. literally. Go get it when it comes out.

This one tops the time when three young kids came into the diner at our lunch hour and played Nelly-Hot in Herre when the place was filled with old folk.

Two old guys came into the diner and played Cher-Do you believe in love after love. It was really loud, so I had to turn it down because it sounded like we were running a club and the back room had a couple tables with elderly couples. The guy stopped me after i turned it down and asked why he spent money on the jukebox if he couldn’t even hear it. I didn’t want to get into it with them so i went back and turned it back up.

And to cher, I do believe in love after love. Doesn’t everybody?

Jungle Blues

I’ve received a copy of Jungle Blues by C.W Stoneking.  Let me just say that this album is very very good. I was talking to a friend about the album, we agreed it was like a mixture of disneyland rides. A big chunk of the jungle cruise, a little of the Indiana Jones ride and just a bit of  splash mountain. It’s 20’s jazz with a new orleans style mixed with some delta blues and the song writing of an early century american exploring the jungles. Most importantly, the man has the rasp of an angel.

i was thinking…

Today at work i was thinking about the concept of a ‘downstairs mustache’ It’s when a guy shaves his pubic region to look like a mustache. So that the pp is kind of like the nose? You may have to have some thigh hair to get some handle bars. But wouldn’t that throw off your girlfriend. Please somebody try this. I nominate my roommate Sam.

I’ve been waiting for these guys to make some progress. They came and played a house show in Jacksonville last year and they blew me away.
